Helpful Scout Fundraising Information

Sometimes a Scout needs a little extra help to afford essentials for their own unit. Units need money for things such as:

  • Camp
  • Uniforms
  • Accessories
  • Camping gear
  • Merit badge clinics
  • Membership dues
  • …and the like

While we at Rainbow Council offer a few council-led fundraisers to streamline some fundraising efforts, we also included information on other ways units can help raise money for Scouting, Cub Scouts and more!

2020 Popcorn Fundraiser

 Scouts selling popcorn to raise money has been one of our more successful scout run fundraisers. The best part about selling popcorn is the learning experience that comes with it. Scouts can learn to book keep with using order forms, work “shifts” with their show and sell, and learn app navigation and management with the new Trails End App for scouts.

With the introduction of the new Trails End app, we have made it faster, easier and safer for you and your scouts to raise funds!
Did you know that when you have an app in your hand it’s safer than collecting cash? With Trails End’s app, you can avoid the hassle of maintaining order forms, carrying cash, and bookkeeping. PLUS Trails End uses square readers which is safer then writing down credit card numbers!
With new technology, comes new information. Be sure to send representatives from your unit to get the most of your fundraiser.

When your scouts need a little help raising money for camp or merit badge clinics, take a look at this ideas for ways to raise money. While these ideas are not council-sponsored, you can contact us for ideas or help on getting started.

30 Scout Fundraising Ideas

Camp Cards are one of the easiest way to raise funds for camp and Scouts!

Details: Camp Cards sell for $10 each. Each scout/unit earns 50% commission, or $5.00 per card sold.

Units can order Camp Cards at the Council Service Center.  There are a limited number of cards available-first come; first serve. So don’t miss out!

Be sure to get your Unit Commitment Form completed and turned in. This is the first step in ensuring that your unit will receive camp cards.

Scouts are encouraged to sell Camp Cards MORE than one at a time. Ask the customer if they would like to buy one for a friend or relative.

The Card:  In addition to the local business listed below, the card can be used all over the country by simply downloading the app on your smart phone.  The App gives the customer access to 1,000’s of two for one deals and up to 50% offers in over 10,000 cities throughout North America on food, goods and travel.

Key Dates for the Sale

  • February 21st, 2020: Commitments/Order Forms due to Council
  • March 1st, 2020: Cards will be available for pick up at the service Center.
  • March 1st—August 1st, 2020: Camp Card Sale Period
  • August 3rd:  Money due to Service Center
